The Essay
The essay is a student’s opportunity to reveal who they are, perhaps not just being a person but also as a student. The most successful essays would be the most authentic essays. We are truly to know who our applicants are. The best advice I will give to students is to ‘be your self’.
Quick Answers
They are known as short answers, buuuut they shouldn’t be too brief of an response. The answers that are short taken very really in our review process. They offer us insight that is valuable to a student’s academic interest also as their commitments outside of the classroom.
Extracurricular Activities
Our company is looking for students who are going to be active members of the USC community. I always suggest that students list any commitments they’ve outside of this classroom. Including clubs that are traditional sports, volunteer organizations, work experience etc. But it also includes, non-traditional activities such as for example taking care of siblings or other family users, productive hobbies like photography, marathon training or everest that is climbing.
Letter of suggestion
Students often feel like they don’t have control over their letter of tips; yet, pupils do have control over whom they approach shmoop paper writing website to write a page of suggestion for the kids. We require that a minumum of one suggestion come from an individual who can touch upon the student’s academic character and possible (in other words. counselor or teacher).

Visiting Campus over the Holiday Break? No problem!
I spent part of my morning at USC’s bookstore while our file review system was temporarily down monday. In the midst of finding the exact size and item I took a moment to pause and look around—the bookstore was incredibly busy that I was looking to buy as a Christmas gift for a family member! I wondered that which was going on and realized that not only are finals winding down this week, but pupils are getting ready to go home for the vacation break and were also doing some gift shopping that is last-minute. The bookstore was super crowded previously this week, but by this weekend, our campus is going to be mostly empty as the University closes for getaway break from December 22 January 1.
Also although the admission office will never be staffed over the break, prospective students and families are welcome to check out campus and take their tour that is self-guided! We understand that many visitors want to tour USC on weekends and other times of year as soon as we don’t offer formal trips, thus we have developed the USC that is official self-Guided pamphlet for the university visit needs! This resource follows the path that is same USC Tour Guides take on their tours also it features a map and pictures of significant structures and locations on campus as a guide. As you go along, you’ll begin to see the Campus Center that houses student offices and dining options, scholastic buildings, and libraries such as Doheny Memorial Library, the oldest research library on campus. The same as every trip led by our present students, the self-guided tour ends at the infamous statue of Tommy Trojan. Through the year, you are able to frequently see students, alumni, and other guests taking pictures in front of Tommy, so don’t be bashful to take one yourself!
Exactly What tour is complete without providing information regarding the certain areas around campus and things to do in l . a .? In the page that is final of brochure, various local museums, restaurants, sports venues, and shopping places are highlighted in case campus visitors want to explore areas off campus, aswell.
You are sure to get a sense of what our beautiful campus and the city of LA have to offer whether you see USC on your own or led by a tour guide. Take pleasure in the holiday break!
